Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sagar Dhakal has congratulated Dr. Chandra Bhandari on his election as vice president of the Nepali Congress, saying in a social media post that he was pleased Bhandari had won by a heavy margin. Dhakal also praised the party’s voters for choosing what he described as a good person and called for people to work together to build the country.

Dhakal’s message after Bhandari’s election

Dhakal’s congratulatory message focused on both Bhandari’s victory and the choice made by Nepali Congress voters. The RSP MP said he was happy that Bhandari had secured a substantial margin in the election. He also described the voters’ decision as a choice of a good person.

The post was a public message of congratulations from a lawmaker belonging to a different political party. Dhakal did not limit his remarks to Bhandari’s new position; he connected the election result to a broader appeal for cooperation in the country’s development.

Call for cooperation and development

Dhakal said that everyone must work together to build the country. His message presented cooperation as a shared responsibility, rather than an effort belonging to one party alone.

He also referred specifically to Gulmi, saying its people must teach the nation about politics, culture and the path to development. The post therefore paired his praise for Bhandari’s election with a call for Gulmi’s people to guide the country in those areas.

Dhakal’s remarks brought together three themes: recognition of Bhandari’s strong win, approval of the Nepali Congress voters’ choice, and a wider appeal for collective work. The social media post did not provide further details about the election or set out specific steps for the cooperation he called for.
