A joint monitoring team from the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has halted the sale and distribution of wine produced by Makalu Wine and Godavari after finding visible sediment inside bottles during an inspection.
The wine was stored in large quantities at Shubha Ojas Suppliers in Gokarneshwar Municipality-4, Kathmandu. The warehouse has been sealed.
Inspection findings
The team imposed the ban after confirming that sediment was clearly visible to the naked eye in the bottles. The affected products were made by Makalu Wine of Sankhuwasabha and Godavari.
Sales and distribution halted
The halt applies to the sale and distribution of the wine, while the warehouse holding the stock remains sealed.
