Volunteers Improve Pedestrian Access on Blocked Beni-Jomsom Road

A group of 15 volunteers led by Prakash Poudel of Beni carried out a shramdaan campaign on Friday to make it easier for pedestrians to travel along the blocked Beni-Jomsom road.

The team installed ladders and hung ropes at difficult sections in the Rahupare and Kunauta areas. Volunteers also cleared trees obstructing the footpath.

Difficult route used by residents and visitors

The Beni-Jomsom road serves residents of Raghu Ganga and Annapurna rural municipalities in northern Myagdi, as well as people from Mustang, pilgrims and tourists.

Despite the volunteer work, the route remains difficult to travel, volunteers said.
