Nepali Congress Vice President Vishwaprakash Sharma has described the party's ongoing 15th General Convention as the beginning of a new journey, saying the party will emerge stronger and more energetic after the gathering.
Speaking at the convention's opening ceremony at Khulamanch in Kathmandu, Sharma said the Congress would embrace the sentiments of the new generation. He said the party needed to connect its history of democratic struggle with younger people.
Connecting the party's legacy with a new generation
Sharma referred to the Nepali Congress's 80-year history and its founding under the leadership of BP Koirala. He said the party must carry its democratic legacy forward by engaging with the aspirations of the new generation.
The 15th General Convention is underway in Kathmandu.
