US federal prosecutors are preparing to bring additional charges against former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, accusing them of involvement in the torture of Americans held in Venezuelan prisons, according to CBS, as reported by Ratopati.
US forces seized Maduro and Flores from their compound in Caracas during a night-time raid on January 3 and brought them to New York. The couple already face weapons and drug-related charges in the United States.
