CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has called for cooperation with the Nepali Congress, saying the time has come for the two parties to work together to protect democracy and change the country’s face.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention in Kathmandu on Sunday, Pokharel said the UML was ready to cooperate with the Congress on democracy, sovereignty, development and prosperity.

Pokharel described Gagan Kumar Thapa’s rise to the Congress leadership as a positive development. He recalled that the two had stood together since their days at Tri-Chandra Campus.
He said cooperation between the parties could help advance the country’s democratic and development goals.
