Two New Canopy Bridges Planned for Monkeys Along Narayanghat–Butwal Road

Two additional overhead canopy bridges for monkeys are planned along the Narayanghat–Butwal section of the East–West Highway in Nawalparasi. The bridges are to be built in forest areas between Kawasoti and Lakaha, and between Chormara and Arun Khola.

The road section has been expanded to four lanes under Asian Highway standards. The planned bridges will provide monkeys with overhead routes across the highway corridor.

Planned locations

  • In the jungle between Kawasoti and Lakaha
  • In the jungle between Chormara and Arun Khola

The two new structures will add canopy crossings along the expanded Narayanghat–Butwal road section.
