Two Arrested in Okhaldhunga Over Alleged Use of Fake Notes to Buy Goats

Police in Okhaldhunga have arrested two men accused of using counterfeit currency to buy goats in Kakani, Sun Koshi Rural Municipality-9.

The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Krishna Khatri and 33-year-old Dhruba Bahadur Khatri, both from Keurini in Champadevi Rural Municipality, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajbabu Maharjan of the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga.

Alleged counterfeit currency transaction

Police said the two allegedly used Rs 19,000 in fake notes in a goat transaction worth Rs 28,000. The sellers were identified as local residents Hastabahadur Tamang and Birbahadur Tamang.

Both suspects are in police custody as further investigation continues.
