Tribhuvan University (TU) has proposed a budget of Rs 30.87 billion for fiscal year 2026/27, an increase of 9.77 percent compared with the previous fiscal year. The proposal was made public in Kathmandu on October 8.
TU Registrar Rabindra Shivakoti said the proposed budget is divided among regular, internal and development programmes. Of the total, Rs 15.24 billion has been allocated to regular programmes.
TU budget proposal for 2026/27
The proposal sets out funding for three programme categories:
- Regular programmes
- Internal programmes
- Development programmes
The university has allocated Rs 15.24 billion to regular programmes. The total proposed budget is Rs 30.87 billion.
