Traders have begun returning to the banks of the Narayani River in Chitwan after the river returned to its normal flow. The river had swollen from Ashoj 9 to 12, leaving the riverbank barren in the aftermath of the flooding.
On Saturday morning, vendors were seen pulling and pushing carts along the riverbank and peeling onions as they returned to the area.
Traders confront flood damage
The devastation left behind by the flood was difficult for traders to see. Some said the sight of the damaged riverbank made them feel like crying as they came back to the area.
