Tourist Arrivals Surge at Annapurna Base Camp as Weather Improves

Tourist arrivals at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Kaski have increased significantly in recent days as weather conditions improved and roads blocked by floods and landslides reopened, tourism entrepreneurs said.

The end of continuous rainfall and restored road access have encouraged more trekkers to visit the Annapurna region. Entrepreneurs also reported a shift in tourist interest toward ABC, with trekking routes in the Manang and Manaslu regions still disrupted.

Improved access draws trekkers

The reopening of roads previously obstructed by floods and landslides has helped make travel to the Annapurna region easier. Tourism entrepreneurs said the improved conditions, following a period of continuous rain, have contributed to the recent rise in arrivals at ABC.

Interest shifts from disrupted routes

Trekking routes in Manang and Manaslu remain disrupted, prompting more tourists to turn their attention to the Annapurna Base Camp area, according to tourism entrepreneurs.

The increase in arrivals follows the improvement in weather and road access, although route disruptions elsewhere in the region continue to affect trekking choices.
