Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested three people for possessing protected wildlife parts, including bear bile and an elephant tusk.
Yogendra Prasad Chaudhary, from Nawalparasi, was arrested with bear bile at Sohrakhutte in Kathmandu. Som Bahadur Majhi of Sindhuli and Chitra Bahadur Bishwakarma of Mahottari were arrested with an elephant tusk.
CIB spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Anupam Shamsher Rana provided details of the arrests.
Arrests over protected wildlife parts
The cases involved two types of protected wildlife parts:
- Bear bile found in Chaudhary's possession in Sohrakhutte, Kathmandu
- An elephant tusk linked to the arrests of Majhi and Bishwakarma
