Seven Federal Parliament Secretariat Employees Resign Amid Ordinance Fears

Seven employees of the Federal Parliament Secretariat have resigned amid concerns over a proposed ordinance that would amend the civil service law, reports from Kathmandu said on October 9, 2026.

The proposed measure would require employees aged 55 and those with 30 years of service to take compulsory retirement. The number of Secretariat staff who have resigned since October 2 has now reached seven.
