Sankhuwasabha has recorded 560 scrub typhus infections since Shrawan, according to the District Health Office. The district has the highest number of cases among the 14 districts of Koshi Province, and no deaths from the disease have been reported so far.
Of the total infections, 393 were confirmed at the district hospital and 167 at health facilities in various local units, Information Officer Dipesh Shrestha said.
Scrub typhus cases by location
Sabhapokhari has recorded 110 cases, while 43 infections have been confirmed in Chainpur, Shrestha said.
The figures reflect cases reported across Sankhuwasabha since Shrawan, with the District Health Office reporting no scrub typhus deaths in the district to date.
