Sachin Timalsina Leads Nepali Congress Youth Central Member Vote Count

Sachin Timalsina was leading the vote count for seven youth open central member seats at the Nepali Congress 15th General Convention as counting continued into Tuesday morning in Kathmandu. After 2,010 votes had been counted, Timalsina had received 929 votes, putting him 47 votes ahead of Sushil. The contest is for candidates under 35, with the seats representing all seven provinces.

Timalsina ahead after 2,010 votes

The count placed Timalsina at the front of the youth central member race at the time of the latest tally. His 929 votes gave him a lead of 47 over Sushil, the candidate closest behind him in the reported count. The results remain part of an ongoing count, rather than a final outcome, as ballots continued to be tallied in Kathmandu.

The vote is for seven open central member positions for youth candidates under 35. The seats represent Nepal’s seven provinces. The available tally therefore provides a snapshot of the race for those positions, with Timalsina leading after more than 2,000 votes had been counted.

Counting continues in Kathmandu

Vote counting was still underway into Tuesday morning. The reported figures reflect the ballots counted up to that point, and the margin between Timalsina and Sushil may be assessed against the continuing count. No final result was reported in the information available at the time.

The count is part of the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention, where candidates are competing for central member positions. In the youth category, the open seats are designated for contenders below the age of 35 and represent all seven provinces. The latest figures identify Timalsina as the current leader in that contest, while leaving the final standing dependent on completion of counting.

What the current figures show

With 929 votes from the 2,010 counted, Timalsina held a narrow but clear lead of 47 votes over Sushil. The figures do not establish the final ranking of candidates or indicate when counting would conclude. They show only the position of the leading candidates at the time counting continued on Tuesday morning.

The seven-seat contest is a youth-level component of the broader convention. As counting proceeds, the tally will determine which candidates secure the open central member positions representing the provinces. Until the count is completed and a final result is announced, Timalsina’s lead remains provisional.
