Keshar Man Bik, ward chair of Aathbiskot Municipality-3 in Rukum West, has alleged that he was beaten while in the custody of the District Police Office, Rukum West. He sustained injuries to his head, face and neck.
Bik, who is also a Karnali Province member of the Nepal Communist Party, was brought to Surkhet at around 3 am on Wednesday. He is receiving treatment at Provincial Hospital in Surkhet.
Allegation of beating in custody
Bik alleges that the injuries were sustained while he was in police custody. The allegation concerns his detention at the District Police Office, Rukum West.
