Keshar Man Bik, ward chair of Aathbiskot Municipality-3 in Rukum West, has been arrested on charges of obstructing police officers in the discharge of their duties, police said. He is accused of arguing with, verbally abusing, pushing and assaulting a police team sent to arrest his brother, Birendra Bik.
Police said the team had gone to arrest Birendra in connection with a complaint of indecent behaviour. Keshar Man Bik is also accused of tearing an officer’s uniform.
Arrest in Musikot
Keshar Man Bik was arrested on Tuesday from a road near Kalika Temple in Musikot Municipality-1.
Police Inspector Jhabindra Pariyar, information officer at the District Police Office Rukum West, confirmed the arrest.
