Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) whip Prakash Chandra Pariyar has urged the government to halt what he called “dozer development” in the Himalayas, warning that bulldozer-driven construction is damaging trekking routes and natural heritage.
Speaking during the special hour in the House of Representatives on Friday, Pariyar said development carried out in the name of progress had disrupted the environmental balance of the Himalayan region. He called on the government to protect Himalayan tourism and take account of the concerns and sensitivities of Indigenous communities.
