Resham Lal Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, sang a song and criticised the jailing of popular political leaders at the opening session of the 15th Nepali Congress general convention in Kathmandu on October 4, 2026.
Chaudhary said representatives who win large numbers of votes are being sent to jail on various pretexts. He called for an end to the practice of imprisoning leaders who are popular with the public.
Chaudhary mentions Rabi Lamichhane
During his address, Chaudhary also referred to Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who is in jail.
