Resham Chaudhary, founder and patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, said the current generation has shown no sign of building the country. He made the remarks at the opening session of the Nepali Congress's 15th general convention in Kathmandu on October 4, 2026.
Chaudhary said leaders who once presented themselves as young despite having grey hair had ruined the country. He added that those with black hair today had also failed to show promise in building the nation.
Criticism of current leadership
His remarks were directed at Prime Minister Balen Shah and the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Chaudhary also appeared to hint at Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa.
The comments came during the opening session of the party convention, where Chaudhary addressed the prospects of the current generation of leaders.
