Repair work has begun on the 220kV Dana-Khurkot transmission line to restore electricity supply to Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi and Mustang, following flood damage to the line.
Continuous rainfall from September 24 to 27 caused the Kaligandaki River to flood and bring down four transmission towers. The towers were damaged at Pokharebagar, Dhirchyang and Bhirkate in Dowa, disrupting power supply in areas affected by floods and landslides.
Repair work underway
Repair crews are now working to restore the transmission line and electricity supply to the affected areas. The line serves Annapurna Rural Municipality and Mustang.
The tower damage followed several days of continuous rain, which led to flooding along the Kaligandaki River.
