The District Traffic Police Office has set up refresh centres at Ramanand Chowk in Janakpurdham and at the traffic beat in Lalgarh to give long-distance travellers and drivers a place to rest. The centres were established as vehicle traffic increases on roads during the festival season, with the aim of reducing accidents.
Office chief Khagendra Kumar Dahal said drivers and passengers can rest for some time, have tea and water, and receive necessary counselling at the centres.
Support for travellers during festival season
The facilities are intended to offer travellers a break during long journeys and encourage drivers to pause before continuing their trips. The traffic office established the centres in two locations: Ramanand Chowk in Janakpurdham and Lalgarh.
