Rajendra Lingden Says Nepali Congress Should Lead Democracy

Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Rajendra Lingden has said that democracy can only be replaced by democracy and that the Nepali Congress should take the lead in upholding it.

Lingden also linked Nepal’s current political problems to the constitution and the republican system, saying it is time to reconsider them. His remarks were reported on October 4, 2026.

Lingden calls for a rethink of the political system

According to the reports, Lingden argued that the country’s political challenges are connected to the existing constitution and republican system. He said those arrangements should be reconsidered.

His comments combined that call for a review with an appeal for the Nepali Congress to lead within democracy. Lingden presented democracy as the alternative, rather than proposing its replacement with another system.
