Repair work has begun on the road section from Suda to Jyamire in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-6, which has been closed to vehicles since last Asar after heavy rain damaged the route. The road is being cleaned and repaired, with the aim of reopening it before Dashain.
Increased water flow in the Jyamire stream and landslides at several points damaged the road and brought traffic to a halt. The closure has affected residents of Jyamire, Gadhawang, Tikhuli and Jaspal, communities located about 12 kilometres from Suda.
Repair work underway
Crews are clearing and repairing the damaged road section to restore vehicle access before Dashain. The route had remained closed since last Asar because of the rain-related damage.
