The Rahughat Hydropower Project has resumed electricity generation, 11 days after flooding damaged its powerhouse and key structures and equipment. Generation has restarted from one unit, with the electricity being fed into the national transmission system.
Flooding in the Kali Gandaki River on Asoj 11 submerged the powerhouse and damaged parts of the project. Repairs were completed within 11 days, allowing the facility to restart generation.
Electricity supplied to the national grid
Power from the project is now being transmitted through the Kali Gandaki Corridor 220 kV transmission line and into the national transmission system.
