The access road to the Pokharebagar bridge in Myagdi has been reconnected 11 days after flooding in the Kali Gandaki River washed away part of the road. Light vehicles have begun operating on the route.
The flood swept away about 20 metres of the paved approach on the Pokharebagar side of the bridge, which lies on the Beni–Jomsom–Korala road at the boundary of Annapurna Rural Municipality wards 2 and 6.
Temporary repair restores access
Beni–Jomsom–Korala Road Project chief Tejaswi Sharma said the road was reconnected on Thursday evening. Workers built a gabion wall at the foundation and filled it with stone and soil as an alternative to the washed-out paved approach.
The repair has enabled light vehicles to use the route again.
