Prime Minister Balendra Shah said the government has distributed land ownership certificates to 5,737 families as part of efforts to address long-standing landlessness and squatter settlement problems.
In a social media post on Monday, Shah said the government is working to provide certificates to families who have waited for decades to secure ownership of their land.
Government plans legal changes to speed up the process
Shah said the Land Act, Forest Act and other relevant laws would be amended where necessary to accelerate the distribution process.
The government’s efforts aim to resolve longstanding land-related problems by providing families with formal ownership certificates.
