Prime Minister Balen Shah said 5,737 families have been provided with land ownership certificates, known as lalpurja.
Speaking on Monday, Shah said the Nepali Congress had pledged in its manifesto for the 2015 BS parliamentary election to distribute land to landless farmers. He said the pledge had not been fulfilled until now.
