Passenger vehicles carrying people travelling for Dashain are being given priority on the Hetauda route after the Mugling-Kathmandu road section was blocked, according to traffic authorities in Makwanpur.
The closure has increased pressure on the Hetauda route, which is being used to manage traffic for people travelling to and from Kathmandu during the Bada Dashain festival.
Passenger vehicles prioritized for Dashain travel
District Traffic Police Office Makwanpur chief Ramesh Bista said passenger vehicles carrying Dashain travellers were being prioritized. The arrangement is intended to make it easier for festival-goers to reach their destinations despite the disruption on the Mugling-Kathmandu road.
Traffic authorities are managing vehicles along the Hetauda route as travellers seek an alternative connection to Kathmandu. Vehicle pressure on the route has increased following the road blockage.
