A passenger assistance desk has been set up at the Nepal-India Jamunaha border crossing in Banke to help Nepalis returning from India for Dashain, Tihar and Chhath travel safely and smoothly.
Banke Chief District Officer Dil Kumar Tamang said the desk will assist people crossing the border for the festivals. The number of returning Nepalis has been increasing daily as Dashain approaches.
More than 50,000 return through Jamunaha in five days
Inspector Rajan Prasad Bhattarai, chief of the Area Police Office Jamunaha, said more than 50,000 Nepalis have returned through the crossing in the past five days.
The assistance desk has been established at the busy border crossing to support festival returnees as travel numbers continue to rise.
