Passenger Assistance Desk Opens at Kathmandu’s New Bus Park for Dashain

A passenger assistance desk was set up on Friday at New Bus Park in Gongabu, Kathmandu, as authorities and transport stakeholders prepare for increased travel during the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.

The desk was jointly organised by the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the Department of Transport Management, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, transport entrepreneurs and transport workers. Additional Inspector General of Police Sushil Singh Rathaur, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, inaugurated the desk. Saroj Sitoula, president of the Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation, was also involved.

Assistance planned at 15 locations

The initiative is intended to support passengers during the festive travel period. Assistance desks are to be set up at 15 locations across the Kathmandu Valley.

Key details of the initiative include:

  • The first desk has been established at New Bus Park in Gongabu.
  • The initiative covers the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.
