A parliamentary special committee studying the effects of climate change in the Himalayas and the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli disaster has recommended that the government provide relief directly to disaster victims through their bank accounts.
The recommendation was made at a committee meeting on Friday at Singha Durbar. The committee also made public a short-term action plan for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the disaster.
Short-term disaster response plan
The action plan calls for making disaster management more systematic, alongside efforts to support those affected through rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures.
