A parliamentary special committee studying the impacts of climate change in the Himalayas, climate justice and the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli disaster has begun an on-site inspection of disaster-affected areas in Nuwakot.
The team, led by committee chairperson Ganesh Parajuli, started its inspection in Bidur Municipality. At the Nepali Army barracks in Bidur, committee members gathered information about the disaster and the post-disaster situation.
Information from government representatives
Representatives from all three tiers of government involved in disaster management and coordination briefed the team on the situation. The visit forms part of the committee’s on-site study of the disaster’s impacts.
