CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has directed party lawmakers to prepare for a peaceful struggle to defend democracy, the constitution and nationalism, saying it would be waged on two fronts: the streets and parliament.
Speaking at a meeting of the UML parliamentary party at the party office in Chyasal on Sunday, Oli accused the government of failing to make lawmakers accountable and of trying to turn them into puppets.
Oli calls for a two-front struggle
Oli said the party’s peaceful struggle would take place both in parliament and on the streets. He urged UML lawmakers to prepare to take part in the effort to protect democracy, the constitution and nationalism.
Criticism of the government
Oli accused the government of not making lawmakers accountable. He also alleged that it was trying to reduce them to puppets.
