Nepali Products Need Stronger Branding to Expand Markets, Chamber Acting President Says

Nepal Chamber of Commerce Acting President and Senior Vice President Deepak Kumar Malhotra has called for stronger branding, improved quality and wider market access to support the development of Nepali products.

Speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on Friday to release the research report Nepali Brand Infrastructure, 2083, Malhotra said good Nepali products had not received the recognition they deserved in domestic and international markets because of weak branding.

Branding key to Nepali product recognition

Malhotra said producing a good product alone was not enough to build recognition in the market. He stressed that Nepali products need greater attention to branding alongside quality and market expansion.

He also called for legal reforms and improved access to global markets as part of efforts to develop Nepali brands.
