Nepali Congress has increased the number of office-bearer and central member posts at its 15th general convention, with spokesperson Devraj Chalise saying the move is intended to broaden the party’s working scope rather than manage leaders.
Chalise made the remarks while speaking to journalists after a Central Committee meeting at the convention venue in Kathmandu. The decision to increase the posts was taken at the meeting.
Party frames expansion as a working-scope change
Chalise said the increase should not be understood as an exercise in leader management or leader production. Instead, he described it as an expansion of the party’s working scope.
The decision concerns the number of both office-bearers and central members at the party’s 15th general convention.
