The Nepali Congress has proposed increasing the number of its office bearers from 17 to 21 as part of efforts to manage party leadership and accommodate a high number of aspirants for leadership roles.
The proposal was introduced by the party’s constitutional amendment committee, led by General Secretary Pradeep Paudel. The committee is also proposing changes to the party statute that would enlarge the central committee.
Proposed changes to the party structure
Under the proposed structure, the party would have one president and a senior vice president, alongside additional central members. The changes are intended to provide space for more leaders within the party’s organizational structure.
The proposal is part of an ongoing process to amend the Nepali Congress statute. The proposed increase would expand the office bearer structure from 17 positions to 21.
