The Nepali Congress has invited former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to attend its 15th general convention as the chief guest. A delegation led by General Secretary Yogendra Chaudhary visited Deuba’s residence to deliver the invitation but was unable to meet him.
The delegation, sent by party president Gagan Thapa, left the invitation with security personnel at the residence after failing to reach Deuba or his personal secretary, Bhanu Deuba, by phone. The convention is scheduled to begin on Sunday.
Invitation delivered at Deuba’s residence
Chaudhary said the delegation went to Deuba’s residence to invite him to the convention. As the delegation could not meet the former party president, it left the invitation with security personnel.
The party had also been unable to contact Deuba or Bhanu Deuba by phone, according to Chaudhary.
