The Nepali Congress general convention’s closed-door session began in Kathmandu on October 7, 2026, ahead of the party’s leadership election. Delegates are set to discuss and endorse four reports presented by party office-bearers.
The session was scheduled to start at 4 pm. The reports are from the party president, vice president, general secretary and treasurer.
Reports to be considered
Delegates will discuss and pass the four reports during the closed session before the party elects its new leadership.
Dr Suresh Raj Acharya, executive director of the Nepali Congress Policy Research and Training Institute, said the closed session precedes the leadership election.
