Vote counting for the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention is underway at the party’s central office in Sanepa, where Bhuvanraj Bhatta is leading the Sudurpashchim Province central-member youth race and Bhupeshwari Airi is ahead in the province’s under-35 youth and women category. The reported standings remain provisional as counting continues.

Bhatta ahead in the central-member youth race

After 3,900 votes had been counted in the central-member youth race for Sudurpashchim, Bhatta had received 2,064 votes. The tally places him ahead of the other candidates listed in the current count.

Yogendra Rawal was next among those candidates with 518 votes. Santosh Khadka had 410, Bharat Badayar Joshi had 426 and Dheeraj Shahi had 360. The figures show Bhatta with a substantial lead in the reported count, while the race is still being counted.

The totals describe the count at the time it was reported, not a final result. With counting continuing at the Sanepa central office, the standings could change as additional ballots are counted. No final declaration for this race was included in the available update.

Airi leads the under-35 category

In the separate under-35 youth and women category for Sudurpashchim, Bhupeshwari Airi, also known as Bhupi, was leading with 184 votes. Rita Shahi was second with 172, an 12-vote difference in the reported tally.

The two figures indicate a close contest at this stage of counting. As with the central-member youth race, the numbers are interim standings: counting is ongoing, and no final result has been announced in the update.

Counting continues at party headquarters

The two Sudurpashchim contests are among the vote counts being conducted for the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention. The update provides candidate totals for the central-member youth race after 3,900 votes were counted and the current figures for the under-35 youth and women category. It does not provide a total number of ballots cast in the latter category.

For now, Bhatta and Airi are the leaders in their respective categories based on the figures reported. The next confirmed standings will depend on further counting at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
