The Nepali Communist Party has decided to launch a two-month National Awakening Campaign from Kartik 7 to Mangsir 25. The campaign will focus on preparations for the party’s general convention and local and provincial elections, as well as opposition to what the party describes as the government’s anti-people policies.
The decision was made at a Friday meeting of the party’s Central Coordination Committee at its office in Parisdanda, Kathmandu. Party spokesperson Prakash Jwala said the campaign would begin with a press conference on Kartik 7.
Campaign priorities
During the campaign, the party plans to:
- Prepare for its general convention.
- Focus on local and provincial elections.
- Oppose the government’s anti-people policies.
The party’s decision comes as it prepares for the upcoming electoral process and its internal convention.
