The Nepal Tourism Board has announced a budget of Rs 1.70 billion for fiscal year 2083/84, a 6.91 percent increase from the Rs 1.59 billion allocated in the previous fiscal year. The rise amounts to about Rs 110 million.
The board spent Rs 894.7 million, or 56 percent, of its previous year's budget.
Rs 50 million set aside for digital promotion
The new budget includes Rs 50 million to promote Nepal through digital media. The allocation will support the production and purchase of photos, videos and other content, as well as video editing.
It also covers grants, a digital content bank and a storage library.
