Industrialists and businesspeople have called for a reliable, investment-friendly environment to help revive Nepal’s economy, saying stable policies and easier access to finance matter more than subsidies and protection.
The views were shared at a dialogue programme organised by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Lumbini Province in Butwal on Saturday, held with the leadership of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce.
Participants also urged authorities to make interest rates charged by banks and financial institutions affordable and to ensure investment security.
Priorities for economic revival
Business representatives highlighted several conditions they consider essential for encouraging investment:
- A reliable investment environment
- Stable policies
- Easier access to finance
- Affordable bank and financial institution interest rates
- Security for investments
They said these measures should take priority over subsidies and protective support as efforts are made to revive the economy.
