The National Human Rights Commission has recommended legal action against Durga Prasai and other organisers of the violent clash at Tinkune in Kathmandu on 15 Chaitra 2081. The Commission also urged the government to bring those responsible for violence and lawlessness carried out in the name of protest within the legal ambit and provide relief to victims.
The Commission's detailed investigation report, made public on Wednesday, concluded that Prasai incited the crowd and provoked the violence. Prasai is the coordinator and commander of the Rastriya, Rashtriyata, Dharma, Sanskriti ra Nagarik Bachau Mahaabhiyan.
Commission urges accountability and relief
The report recommends that the government take legal action against those responsible for the incident and ensure victims receive relief. Its findings concern the clash that took place during the protest at Tinkune.
