Nepal Police have set up passenger help desks at 48 locations to assist travellers during the festival season. The desks are intended to give passengers a place to report problems and seek immediate assistance while travelling.
In Baitadi district, police have established 13 help desks, according to District Police Office spokesperson Police Inspector Suraj Singh.
On-the-spot complaints and assistance
DIG Khanal said passengers can lodge complaints at the help desks and have them addressed immediately. The service is intended to spare travellers from having to search for a police office when they need help.
Public transport monitoring increased
Police have also stepped up monitoring of public transport during the festivals as part of their efforts to assist passengers.
