Nepal Plans to Replace Timber Imports by Boosting Domestic Production

The government is preparing an action plan to replace imported timber by increasing domestic production and use, Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary said on Friday.

Chaudhary made the statement during an inspection of the Tilaurakot community forest in Kapilvastu. The plan aims to boost local timber output and reduce the country’s reliance on foreign wood imports.
