Route permits will be opened across Nepal during the Dashain period to help ease passenger movement, following a decision made at a meeting at the Department of Transport Management. The meeting included representatives of Nepal Police, traffic police and the National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs.
Advance ticket booking for Dashain travel will begin from Ashoj 23, according to Punya Prasad Sitoula, central president of the National Transport Entrepreneurs Federation.
Travel arrangements for Dashain
Department Director General Rajiv Pokharel said reserved long- and medium-distance vehicles will be able to travel to various destinations from Fulpati until Purnima.
The nationwide route-permit arrangement is intended to make it easier for passengers to travel during the festival period.
