Internet Service Providers Association of Nepal (ISPAN) has announced that cheap, low-speed internet packages will no longer be available from Ashoj 19, a Monday. Existing packages in this category are set to be withdrawn from that date.
In a statement reported by Nepal Press, ISPAN president Sudhir Parajuli cited rising costs in recent years and several pressures affecting internet service providers.
Why ISPAN says the packages are being withdrawn
The association pointed to a combination of cost increases and other factors, including:
- Higher fuel costs linked to tensions in the Middle East
- Increased fibre prices
- High inflation
- Artificial factors
ISPAN’s announcement means customers will no longer be able to access the existing low-cost, low-speed packages from Ashoj 19. The association has not specified in the announcement what packages will replace them.
