Nepal is in continuous discussions with China to reopen the Tatopani border point, Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal has said. He said Nepal has restored the road on its side and is ready to operate the crossing.
Lamsal made the remarks on October 6 during a meeting of the Parliamentary Special Committee on the Impact of Climate Change in the Himalayas, Climate Justice and the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli Disaster at Singha Durbar in Kathmandu. He said discussions with the Chinese side are taking place almost daily.
Nepal says its side is ready
Lamsal said there are no problems on Nepal’s side of the border point. The road has been restored, and Nepal is prepared to operate the Tatopani crossing once it reopens.
The minister’s comments indicate that discussions with China are continuing, but he did not provide a reopening date.
