Nepal’s Department of Tourism has granted autumn 2026 climbing permits to 648 climbers from 69 countries to climb 20 mountains across the country. The climbers are organised into 71 teams, comprising 485 men and 163 women.
The latest figures exceed earlier department figures, which reported permits for 637 climbers in 68 teams across 18 mountains. Department information officer Suraj Ghimire said those earlier figures generated Rs 23.85 million in revenue.
